Shadow Work: Day 54

What is a question you had as a child that you never got a real answer? Do you have that now?

My parents divorce, mom and bio dad. I had a lot of questions, as adopted children DO. It didn’t mean I didn’t like my dad who adopted me, but I was curious and I had questions and I was made to feel like I had no right to feel them, to ask why…. I remember my mom telling me I hurt my dad by ASKING and I didn’t mean it in any harmful way. I just wanted to know, and I think the divorce hurt her so much, even to this day, that she interjected some of her feelings into it. Yes, he cheated, but in some ways I can understand because if you do not do as mother says, you get the punishment. I was sure she was the same and he got tired of it. As a child, it was all I knew. Lately, and I am not abandoning my adoptive family, I have been in contact with them and one day I hope to talk to him myself. I don’t want a “replacement” family, I just want some answers and some peace…

I like to do journal prompts and you should, too. Picking various ones and doing them towards my own healing….
